The Archaeological Museum of the Territory of Cupra exposes the most interesting materials from excavations in the territory by the Archaeological Superintendency of the Marche and by the very interesting activities, about thirty years dall’Archeoclub local. And ‘it divided into 3 sections: Prehistoric, Picena and Roman. Prehistoric section, consists of stone tools dating from the Lower Paleolithic, Middle and Upper, Mesolithic and Neolithic. It is dall’Archeoclub local artifacts collected over the course of about 30 years, on the river terraces of the land Cupramontana. Picena section consists of materials from areas of the necropolis excavated in the years 1911-’12 dating from the ninth to the fourth century. C. In the windows are exposed to materials related to funerary traced in several graves, including pottery, bronze ornaments and weapons of iron. The Roman section is made up of exhibits coming mostly from area called “Civita” the site of the forum of the Roman city of Cupra Marittima, still well documented by the architectural remains. All exhibits testify to centuries of life in the ancient Roman city.
