Santuario della Madonna di Gimigliano o dell’Addolorata

The Sanctuary of the Madonna di Gimigliano is located in the hamlet of Venarotta Gimigliano. In April of 1948, Anita Federici said he saw the Madonna in a cave near the place where he went to collect firewood. Was in fact built the church which was consecrated in 1962. Since the earthquake of ’72, the church was left in a state of deplorable abandonment. After 38 years of silence and after the healing of Rosina Messi, in 1986, the sanctuary is repopulated of faithful and pilgrims. Inside it was kept a statue of Our Lady of Sorrows.
