A 4 km from the village of Carassai, stands the imposing castle Montevarmine, the fourteenth century with the remains of the ninth, probably of Lombard origin; this is one of the castles of the Marches, remained intact, with its mighty walls, the high tower battlements Ghibellines (35 m), equipped with Archer and piombatoi. It is one of the few examples of a fortified farm of the Piceno. From the keep of the castle, you can admire and contemplate a wonderful varied landscape. The castle is a destination for visitors and is a center of attraction for the whole area and a historical landmark for the surrounding countries, in addition to a scenic point, because it stands on a hill between the age-old trees. While insisting on the territory of Carassai, Rocca Monte Varmine is owned by the municipality of Fermo, who has inherited the Opera Pia Foundling Hospital, along with its 700 acres.
