The Copper Museum was opened in 2005. The museum occupies the halls of two significant buildings in the historic center of Force: the palace Canestrari and the former church of San Biagio. Along the walls of the most characteristic copper artefacts are proudly displayed, anticipating, thanks to the help of explanatory panels on the wall, the exposure of the building Canestrari; It has also set up an educational workshop, which allows you to have direct experience of working with copper. The palace houses Canestrari, in the evocative underground rooms, the most typical artifacts of handmade copper in Force. To understand what is the Museum, it is a must visit at least one of the workshops that take coppersmiths still alive. The presence of the Museum, with its collection of memories, helps to understand that force and its immediate surroundings contain important evidence on the hammered copper, an art that still continues. The main productions of the art of copper forcese are directed to domestic duties. For the high degree of thermal conductivity and high resistance to corrosive phenomena of alteration, characters proper copper, numerous objects are products, often intended for cooking. It has, thus, the great range of cauldrons, the pots, the cauldrons for the mulled wine, the tin for polenta, casseroles, the kettles, coffee houses in different style, the tea pots, pans, mufflers, trays . They are prepared, then, complicated stills, the “tamburlà” dialect Piceno, to get the wine, through a distillation process, the “anisette” (particularly refined product of local food). You have, also dishes, jars, funnels for pouring liquids, ladles, skimmers, basins, buckets, various containers. The artifact most characteristic is the “Conch”: it is a vessel to draw with, carry and contain the water; has amphora shape, base and wide mouth, narrow neck and side handles. Household are also warming pans, bottles bedroom to fill hot water to warm the feet and, more recently, the umbrella stand and planters.
