The oldest church built within the walls of Acquaviva which over the centuries, has undergone major renovations. In ancient times the church was used for gathering people. Over time, the church became to small due to the increase in population, and hence the church of San Nicolò was built and San Rocco was given to the Agostiniani Scalzi in 1612 a group of priests who wanted to settle in Acquaviva. But the monks used the church until 1613 and then found more suitable accommodation in the church of San Lorenzo Martire. The building, in Romanesque style, seems to date back in the older parts, to the twelfth century. On the façade, framed by a blind Loggiatino tiles, friezes and panels are of polychrome majolica. The central rose window and portal gabled stone were added later. The interior was redone in 1700 with the addition of high ionic columns, with the rhythm track. On each side there is an altar surmounted by a niche holding a papier-mache statue. In particular, the statue of St. Vincent Ferreri is really appreciable. The materials used inside the church are plastered brick. In the semicircular apse one can find the altar. The church has a wooden statue of San Rocco, an elegant work dating back to the eighteenth century. Particularly accurate is the bell tower and the spire that surmounts it, both from the Gothic period.
