The Church of St. Michael the Archangel was built by Lombard masters in the fifteenth century, following the stream all’esondazione Chifente, which destroyed the convent of the Franciscan friars. It was completely rebuilt from 1890 to 1909 on the initiative of the parish priest Don Giovanni Benedetti, drawing on the Capuchin Fra ‘Angelo Cassano d’Adda. The work continued in the following years (in the period 1916-20 the interior was frescoed by Giuseppe Pauri) and the consecration took place only in 1920, The earthquakes of 1943 and 1951 caused extensive damage to the front, completely rebuilt in 1956 on the initiative of parish priest, Father Vittorio Luciani, designed by Remo Casini. The decorations of the lunette of the portal are dell’offidano Sergiacomi Aldo, who created them in the 1960s Inside, on the main altar are preserved the Assumption of the Virgin, painting of the sixteenth century by the painter Vincenzo Pagani, and a reliquary of the Holy Cross, attributed to the great goldsmith Peter Vannini (XV century).
At the time, the Church is closed unfit for use.
