The church of St. Francis, whose construction began in 1882, designed by the famous architect Giuseppe Sacconi. The church rises majestically on the site where once stood the Monastery of the Franciscan friars, built in 1272, which today remains the bell tower of the thirteenth century and two lions, which once had to protect the door of the church. The Franciscan Monastery also worked the Venetian painter Carlo Crivelli, who worked long in the Piceno and where he left testimony of numerous works. To the church of St Francis painted a triptych, unfortunately dismembered, of which it was possible to find only two tables. The central panel depicts the Madonna seated on a throne with the child, also known as “Our Lady of Force”, which is now housed in the Vatican Museums; a life-sized reproduction was placed in the church forcese. The second table, in the central part of the dais, can be admired in the Louvre museum in Paris.
