San Basso, bishop and martyr of Nice, whose body was crossed from head to foot by two long nails, was transported by sea in the Piceno welcomed by refugees of Nice and just above the harbor of the Cupra outside the Roman walls of the city and at the spring of Acqua Santa, then known as San Basso.
