In a small clearing at the foot of Mount Ascension, there is the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Consolation or Montemisio. The Church was built by the monks of Farfa, built on the ruins of a pagan temple dedicated to the goddess Artemis or Artemisia. The cult went first to the veneration of the Virgin of the Belt, then to Our Lady of Tempera (the water required fields). According to legend, while the drought threatened crops, he held a propitiatory procession. The statue of the Madonna had just put on the road, when the sky darkened and the beneficial rain fell. In the eighteenth century, after the restoration, the church became the Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation. Today the sanctuary is the destination of many pilgrimages. The traditional festival takes place on August 15th. The chapel has a single nave, the floor tiles and the altar of travertine. The garden boasts a centuries-old oak tree more than 23 meters high, with a circumference greater than 5 meters.
